My name is Peter Conley, I'm currently a senior at SUNY Geneseo with a degree in business administration.  I'm 21 years old and grew up outside of Buffalo in a suburb called Williamsville.  I attended Williamsville East high scool and graduated in 2008.  I'm interested in pursuing a career in sales and eventually want to own my own business.  I'm in a couple business clubs here at school including marketing club and SIFE.  I'm also apart of Geneseo's Ski club and love to snowboard.

Outside of school I love watching and playing hockey, basketball, and football.  I'm a Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. I also have a passion for music.  I am constantly searching for new artists in all areas of rock and hip-hop.

I first heard about Bike & Build from my friend Ryan Brown.  I was beyond excited when I started to research this organization and its mission.  This is literally exactly what I was looking to with my summer once I graduate in May.  I was looking to travel from east to west coast and volunteer at multiple locations along the way.

Over winter break I traveled down to Biloxi, Mississippi with a volunteer group from my school to repair houses that suffered damage from Hurricane Katrina.  I was shocked to find out how much aid is still needed even 6 years after the storm.  This was definitely an eye opening experience for me and made me want to volunteer more.  I've also spent over a 100 hours volunteering at the Food Bank of Western New York. I am a big supporter of the salvation army and goodwill.  When I volunteer I like to contribute to charities that focus of the bare necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing.

I chose to raise money for the Affordable Housing cause because I recognize that so many people can't afford the basic need of a roof over their head without the help from others.  I come from a very fortunate background and feel that I need to give back to others because I have been very blessed.

I'm so pumped to get the opportunity to visit parts of this country I have never seen before and really get a chance to connect with others from all over the United States.  I'm also excited for the fact that I can take in a lot more of the scenery by biking instead of simply driving across it.  My parents inspired me to take part in this crazy adventure because over the years they have showed me the importance of volunteering and committing selfless acts.
